Josephine, I know that you are temporarily in bass clarinet due to unforeseen circumstances (lol), so too bad, you have to practice that too!

Treat it as a new experience! You should really embrace this chance to try a new instrument. Cuz you wont really get another chance to. Anyway, its also good to know. You can boast to people next time haha.

HELLO, YOUR SL HERE :D

I know its stupid to have 2 posts in one day. But whatever.

Anyway, seniors.

Please work hard! Yes, you sec 2s!

As you should know, the homework that Mr Lim gave us is..well..lets just say we are slow. Very.

The schedule is supposed to be like that

1st week - 3 scales from SBT

2nd week - 6 scales

3rd week - 9 scales

4th week - 12 scales

5th week - Sec 2s : 2 etudes from Tone&Technique #11 onwards

Sec 3-5 : 1st advanced etude

6th week - Sec 2s : 5 etudes from T&T

Sec 3-5 : 2nd advanced etude

7th week - Sec 2s : 2 etudes from T&T

Sec 3-5 : 3rd advanced etude

As you can see, we are way behind time. Are you guys even sure you can play 12 scales? Will you all let Mr Lim down again? (and again? and again?)

Dont give lame excuses like you have no time and you need to study. Hello. You are in sec 2 and Im in sec 3. If I can find time to practice, obviously you can. Just because you are taking more subjects than me right now doesnt mean that you have a heavier workload. And dont use common tests (assessments) as an excuse too. Everyone has it. So you gotta live with it.

If you forgot to study for a test and decide to go study for it and skip band practice or sectionals. Im going to hunt you down. Its your own problem if you dont know how to manage your time.

As you have heard from Ms Lim, the teachers also requested us to play new marches for this year's speech day. And we play about 4 pieces for each speech day, meaning that we have to prepare 4 NEW pieces. Oh, sec 1s reading this, dont be too stressed up :)

And not to mention, there will a concert in May for our school's biannual combined cultural night. And we have to prepare maybe 2 or 3 new pieces too. Oh, sec 1s reading this, do be stressed.

And later this year, we will be participating in the SIBF. Singapore International Band Festival. Yes, its international. :O

Work hard guys. Meanwhile, work on your Spirited Away and Samba De Loves You. Im quite sure you guys can play that weird french song...

And sec 1s, do work hard on your Essential Elements for now alright? I know its February right now, but one year will pass very quickly and next year, you will have your own juniors! So you have to work hard and you know...improve? Haha...

Yeah, im stepping down next year. So sec 2s, please be more serious towards band alright? When I tell you to do something, do it quick and do it right. Dont take like 3 seconds to take a breath. Thats super lag.
